It is a very good idea to rest for a few minutes, breath deeply and ask them  Bp Zone to test again, as the reading will be slightly different after a short rest. You can of course arrive a little early for your appointment and just rest for a few minutes in the waiting room, either way is fine and definitely does work out to be safer and gives the doctor more accurate readings.

Obviously one of the biggest causes for inaccurate blood pressure readings is when the equipment that is used does not function properly. The doctor's office should test, update and calibrate all of the equipment every so often, but if you are suspicious of the testing device, ask the doctor if he can test you using a different cuff. At home, if you test your blood pressure yourself, make sure that you follow all of the instructions down to the last period, and do not use if you think it may be broken.

You can of course purchase an "at home" blood pressure testing cuff. It is very important to make sure that you do not just buy the cheapest one that you can find. The cheaper versions do not usually give a reading that is anywhere close to being accurate. It is always good to invest in the more expensive kits that include a stethoscope, just to make sure that your blood pressure scores are correct.

There are a number of models that are approved by hospitals which you can buy at a higher cost. It is; however, always better to receive a blood pressure test at your local doctor's office or in a hospital. One of the big areas where an error occurs is when an operator does not use the equipment properly. If you think that your doctor has put the cuff around your arm tightly enough, ask them to check it before doing the test.
